Anglican Weddings

Anglican Weddings can take place at one of the many beautiful churches or chapels on the island but you also have the choice to marry in some especially approved hotel grounds. The decision is yours!

There are many traditional and picturesque chapels available in Cyprus, from the quaint Agia Constantinos chapel in Derynia, and the charming St Barnabas Church in Limassol to the ancient and beautiful Ayia Kyriaki Church in Paphos. Some hotels also have small chapels on their grounds where Anglican services can be conducted inside, and sometimes outside the chapels. Or maybe you prefer to marry at one of the chosen hotel wedding venues that the Anglican Church have approved for their wedding services.

The Anglican church require at least one of the wedding couple to have been baptised as a Christian and unlike the Catholic church, the Anglican church will accept to marry divorcees.

On arrival to resort your Olympic Wedding Coordinator will arrange a meeting with a church Verger and also the Reverend who will perform the wedding ceremony. In the UK it would be necessary to meet the local church Reverend for a period of time before the wedding, however in Cyprus there is obviously not the time for this. At the meeting with the Reverend, he will talk to the couple privately about their future marriage and life together.

In the large churches, it may be possible to have an organist and choir, but not in the tiny hotel chapels. It is best to let us know if you require an organist and / or choir in advance so they can be booked to avoid disappointment.

The Anglican Church require a non refundable deposit to reserve your wedding date.

Please see our Legal Requirements section regarding paperwork for Anglican Weddings. Our Wedding Department will provide you with the relevent forms that the Anglican Church require to be completed at the time of the wedding booking.

Olympic Weddings also offer 'Wedding Only' for those of you that want the flexibility of booking your own holiday and letting us take care of everything else. Contact us for more details.
